Committee

Cambridge City Korfball Club is administered by a committee, elected each year at the AGM. Here’s all the people that keep the club running behind the scenes:

A. The Committee

Chairperson John Rouncefield

Position summary: The chairperson is responsible for facilitating the development of korfball through effective club leadership, working in partnership with club coaches to maximise mass participation and deliver a high quality winning performance both on and off the pitch.

Secretary Andy Rutter / Simon McGregor

Position summary: The secretary is responsible for carrying out and/or coordinating the administrative duties of the club that enable the club to function effectively.

Treasurer Jonathon Lyons

Position summary: The treasurer is responsible for facilitating the sound administration of the club finances ensuring that the club remains within the budget allocation.

Publicity officer George Royal

Position summary: The publicity officer is responsible for raising the profile of the club and of korfball within the area.

Senior development officer Phil Melia

Position summary: The senior development officer is responsible for the drafting of, implementation of and evaluation of the club’s development plan, raising the profile of the club and of korfball within the area.

Junior development officer Lucy Harrison

Position summary: The junior development officer is responsible for ensuring the growth of the junior section of the club.

Child protection officer Lucy Harrison

Position summary: The child protection officer is responsible for supporting and raising awareness of the protection of children, for ensuring compliance with the club’s Child Protection Policy, and for acting upon any concerns reported.

Junior coordinator Caroline / Paul

Position summary: The junior co-ordinator is responsible for the smooth running of the junior section of the club. This involves actually arranging the session, managing the juniors, the parents and volunteers and ensuring that all child protection procedures and paperwork are complied with.

Tournament officer John Rouncefield / Antony Proietti

Position summary: The tournament officer is responsible for the planning and organising the club’s representation at local and national tournament competitions.

Social secretaries Rob Wallace / Antony Proietti

Position summary: The social secretaries are responsible for organising social events for club members, as well as meeting the annual fundraising target with fundraising activities.

Refereeing officer Andy Rutter

Position summary: The refereeing officer is responsible the training and mentoring of referees within the club and for allocating club refereeing commitments.

Equipment officer

Job description: Manager of the club’s equipment – makes sure it’s in good condition, safe for play, labelled, and at the right venue.

B. Coaches

Head coach Janine Collier

Position summary: The head coach is responsible for the club playing programme, including both training and competition.

Assistant coach Antony Proietti

Position summary: The assistant coach is responsible for helping the head coach with the club playing programme, including both training and competition.

Youth coach Alyson Anderson

Position summary: The head youth coach is responsible for the planning and organising of the club’s junior section.

Tykes coaches Rachel Camina and Dave Timney

Position summary: The Tykes coaches are responsible for the planning and organising of the club’s Tykes section.

C. Captains

The captains are responsible for assisting the coach with team selections, ensuring availability of players for matches, leading the players on and off the pitch, and for collection of match fees.
