A convincing win in the first of the two EKA matches against a relatively weak opposition. City scored 8 goals in the first half, allowing Janine to make a few changes at half time.

Janine, Nick, Andy and Carla were all subbed off, replaced by Rob W, Sian, Anna and Dave R. The mission was to score as many goals as we had in the first half… and we did. The final score was 16-2.

Game Two: City 1 v Croydon 2

First attack: Carla, Mary, Nick, Angus
First defence: Janine, Tracey, Andy, Antony

This was an entirely different game against some strong opposition, including four of Croydon's usual first team players. However, we managed to put the previous game behind us and both divisions set out to play a structured, controlled game.

Though the score was 5-5 at half time, it felt like we were the more dominant team, so we went out in the second half determined to make the score line reflect this.

With nine minutes to go we were two goals up, and played to secure the win. Sian came on for Mary with 15 minutes to go, Rob W came on for Andy, and Anna replaces Carla in the final few minutes. Nick managed to sneak another goal in near the whistle, so we finished with a three goal victory.

City 1 is now through to the next round of the EKA Cup, a feat we haven't achieved in 7 years! Go City!
