About
What is korfball?
A fun, mixed sport, that offers children and young adults from the ages 7-14 (KS2 and KS3) the chance to experience a team sport, exercise and have fun! There are also skills awards to achieve for those keen players.
The club caters for players of all abilities. We currently have players in the Under 9, Under 11 and Under 13 age groups. We train hard and play hard!
Korfball is played by adults, children, families, couples; as elite-level international competition or as a recreational past-time.

What happens at Junior training?
We start with a warm-up and end with a game each week. During the session, we concentrate on improving fundamental skills, such as catching and passing, and work on fitness levels through fun exercises. Then we work on korfball skills, such as shooting, team work, attacking and defending. There are always helpers on hand to give help with understanding the drills and exercise plus answer any questions you have.
When is it?
Training takes place during term time from 16.30 to 18.00 at Hills Road Sports and Tennis Centre, Purbeck Road, Cambridge, CB2 8PF.

What the juniors say about korfball
Bayley says: It is really good to find a sport that I can play with everyone in my family. Mixed teams mean that I can train, and maybe play matches, with my brother and sisters. Mum and Dad can get involved, too!
Lily says: I like that you all work together. If you lose, you lose as a team, and if you win, you win as a team. It's a great fun sport, you should get involved!
Edward says: "I like the way Korfball is different from all other sports. Netball and basketball have very similar rules, but korfball is unique".
Youth players at seniors
Youths aged over 13 (KS4) also have the opportunity to train with the seniors from 8-9pm at Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre to further their korfball development and aid their transition to the senior club. All juniors are supported by the club to take their sport to the level the would like, whether recreational or to international level.
