First attack: Ian, Steve, Bayley, Alyson
First defence: John E, John R, Jenni, Vanessa
Sub: Rob N for Ian (with 10 minutes left due to injury)

A spirited City effort against a strong, young and well drilled Vikings side.

Vikings quickly sped out to a 3 goal lead using their young legs to run round City opponents. John Rouncefield offered some respite by sinking a long shot to reduce the arrears to 3-1 but Vikings ultimately continued to create opportunities to score and ended the half with a comfortable 8-1 lead.

A determined City took to the court in the second half and worked hard at cutting off the feed position to reduce the Vikings scoring chances. To some extent City achieved this and restricted their opponents to 5 second half goals.

City's attacking play also developed nicely during the match - there were some particularly good movements to create chances off the back of the post - we just need to exercise some control and take our time when making our shots to receive the full benefit of our good movement.  Ian was
substituted with 10 minutes to go after falling heavily on his ankle.

All round a highly pleasing effort. Vikings 3 look by far and away the best team in the division so City should not be downhearted - the attacking and defensive work are developing well and our next victory should not be too far away.
