A fast and frenetic game that we lost on bad passing. The first half was excellent with lots of good play, Ellie running rings around her player and Yan doing some excellent defence / attacking against Phoenix's tall boy Etienne. At half time the score was Phoenix 4 City 3 - just one goal into. From then on in we messed up our passing and simply didn't hold the ball long enough, though when we did get the ball there were plenty of shots up.

Rob's end really played some lovely korfball with lots of support for each other and everyone taking shots. Sue's end was more frenetic and in retrospect we realised we were playing to Phoenix's fast past and should have slowed it down to ensure that we got the ball and kept it. They played a tight defence and this meant we all ran round our players but the passing wasn't there.

Yan was injured with a turn on his ankle (hope it's ok) and George subbed on. We had four free passes, three at Sue's end and one at Rob's - none converted. Rob converted all his penalities (2) and a missed penalty by Phoenix was quickly picked up by our defence.

In all, we lost the game in the 15 mins after half time, but played much better in the very last 10 mins - but it was too late and weren't able to convert anymore shots. Well done everyone for a great effort.
