As the first match against the local league champions, both sides had a lot to prove. City scored first and went to an early 3 goal lead but Tigers fought back to even up 6-6 with just seconds of the first half remaining. City was then able to make it 7-6 going into the break.

Coming back into the second half, there were goals from both sides which kept the match score close and with just 5 minutes to go the score was 10-10. In an unprecedented surge of late goals, City scored three without reply from Tigers ending the match with a much deserved 13-10 win to City.

With an impressive 4 goals from Nick and some interesting new defensive match-ups from Coach Janine, City were by far the better team on the day. It was nice to see City playing exciting but controlled korfball especially in the last crucial minutes of the game.
