A battling performance against a strong City 3 team, who imposed themselves in the 1st half to lead 6-1 at the break despite some determined defence.
However in the second half City 4 produced an excellent period lasting 18 minutes when Ian, Stephen, Bayley and Alyson didn't concede a goal, Cam finally ending the deadlock when he finally sank a long shot for City 3.
Unfortunately, City 4 had many 1 shot attacks at the other end and although our ball retention was good at times too many turnovers and small errors contributed to make life a little too easy for our opponents and failed to reward that superb defensive effort.
Well taken goals from Ian and Alyson offered some consolation however.

Well this was always going to be the match of matches, the battle of the titans and the clash of kings and proved to be an awesome match!!
City 3 arrived as the favourites, but only due to a more experienced side. Still City 3 carried great respect for City 4, fully aware of the rising starts and old hand talent!
The game started well for City 3 with Sue scoring a dropping off shot, Ian soon put City 3 in their place with a super side shot levelling the scores….this was going to be no walk over, reflecting our close position in the division.
Ellie scored a great running in shot and George a long side shot. Sue then scored a further two awesome goals, taking full advantage of the opportunities her division were creating bringing the score to 5-1. George slotted in another long shot bringing the half time lead to 6-1.
The game was looking in control and City 3 marched out in the second half expecting to build on the lead and take full command of the game, only to be kept battling for 19 mins without a goal! An awesome defence from City 4 and a lack of managing to get the damn little white ball in the yellow hoop was causing much frustration!
The other end of the pitch saw City 3 defend brilliantly and never looked likely to concede. Finally Cam broke the goal silence with a medium shot, Alison scored for City 4 and Yan finalised the result with a long shot.
A great match played in good spirits, showing promise, improvement in ability and a depth of experience in both teams. This is definitely the place to be for competitive fun!!! Thanks all!
