Venue: Littleport Leisure Centre

First attack: Cam, George, Ellie, Nathalie
First Defence: Yan, Rob N, Rose, Su

Well, to start this on a personal note I have a nightmare record at Littleport, so with a degree of trepidation we set out off to Littleport expecting the worst. We took a strong squad with us though, with lots of experience and our new Dutch recruit, Nathalie (welcome!). Looking at our opposition though we had a good chance as long as we didn't give Littleport too many long shot chances.

Game started and Littleport quickly scored, Ellie then dropped one of her powerful long shots. A quick switch of ends and Rob scored one of his well groomed long shots to bring City to lead 2-1. Yan quickly
followed this up with an awesome running in shot and City were firing on full cannons! Lions clawed one back 2-3 and then Cam widened the gap with a side drop off shot. Lions slotted in a final goal before half time bringing the score to 4-3 to City, game on!!

We were all nervous at half time, knowing we could win but also knowing we had been in this position before and managed to let the lead slip away.

Second half started fantastically, Rob made a comment to George about scoring quickly then proceeded to deliver on his commitment, 5-3 City, then Lions clawed back at our lead, scoring 3 goals, going into the lead for the first time. Oh no!

Suddenly Lions looked like they meant business and City had to step up their game. Yan stood up to the
challenge and took a great drop off shot bringing us level, but then Lions took the lead again. Cam scored a long shot, then Yan scored one too, City had the lead again 8-7. Lions equalised and the game was into the last quarter.

City dug in and started to play with passion, Ellie scored another drop off, then a long shot and Rob finished the battle with a superb running in shot leaving his defender for dead!!

Final score 11-8 to City, a great effort and probably the most fun City 3 game of the season to date.

Everyone played fantastically and there was little to criticise. Plenty of shots, great defence and lots of
energy and best of all a fun filled win! Followed by a celebratory drink!

Hats off to Lions though, they pushed us all the way and never gave up.

Oh, and thanks to Mr Chairman John R for his great support.
