A creditable draw for City against a strong looking Vikings line up.  A low scoring but tense affair with neither side ever able to establish more than a 1 goal lead.  City opened the scoring via an Ellie running in shot but were pegged back by Vikings who then took  2-1 lead.  A Cameron shot dropping off from the post ensured that at half time the match was level and everything to play for.

The second half followed a similar pattern except Vikings again took the lead before Dave R restored parity with a medium to long shot.  The team were receiving vocal encouragement not only from coach Proietti but also a large gathering of club members - those waiting to play for City 5 and several who came along just to support.

The coach used the bench to try and break the deadlock with both Andy Lynch and Yan coming on for Rob and Cameron.  As the game entered it's last 5 minutes, City's defence was broken to give Vikings what they thought was the winning goal.  However City were not to be denied and in virtually the next attack George sunk one of his trademark long shots to ensure City got something out of the game.

Big thanks to everyone who came to watch and especially Antony for his coaching expertise from the sideline.
