Annual Christmas Dinner
Date: 18/12/2009
Venue: TBC
Comments:
On a cold and dark Decembers night a group of korfers, weary from the year's on-court exerts, followed a guiding light (i.e. Rob W) until it led them to a quiet inn. There was plenty of room at the inn because we had booked in advance - take note Mary and Joseph.
The korfers entered bearing secret santa gifts of frankincense, mir, slinkys and de-icer (wise man Andy Rutter had clearly stopped to get his gift at the petrol station en route)! Unfortunately there was no birth of Christ to behold so the hungry korfers sat down for some well deserved tipple and Christmas pud instead.
They were entertained by inn-keeper Antony's baby competition, which threw up some hilarious guesses, before being won under suspicious circumstances by the inn-keepers wife Nikki (all future korf competitions will now be suspended pending further investigation). In between courses there was also Antony's Christmas quiz which proved that the korfers were not wise men after all!
Finally the secret santa gifts were exchanged and the drink flowed all the way to the Slug and Lettuce, and then to the Regal for some hardcore adventurers. Eventually they retired, resting in preparation forfollowing Antony's star across 12 pubs next weekend.
